Doc. Dr. Tuğrul Kihtir, Head of the Anadolu Health Center Aesthetic Surgery Department , declares, “this is a method which has been started being applied in America. The breast evacuating operation as a prevention in patients with high risk of cancer, is practiced by the removing of the breast tissue. In this method by the removal of the muscles in the abdomen and the back the breast is reformed. The patient is operated on exactly as if he has cancer.
But the method I prefer most is the removal of the tissue in the abdomen. Because by this way, both the patient is relieved of the fat in his abdomen and precaution is taken against the cancer risk as well. I prefer this method because when the fat tissue is removed no need for placing prosthesis is required. As of all surgical operations the prosthesis may have complications. In any case breast prosthesis operations cannot be applied in every women. Because very serious genetic tests have to be administered before or the cancer story in the family has to be examined.
